Petrified Lake

Jewelry artist and sculptor Björn Weckström, the internationally best-known Finnish jewelry designer, combines materials boldly and open-mindedly. In the early 1970s, he designed jewelry combining silver with clear acrylic. At the time, the combination of cheap plastic and precious metals raised a few eyebrows, but today, the silver-acrylic jewelry is considered to be a milestone of modern jewelry design. In the Petrified Lake ring, the green and blue tint on the silver element inside the clear acrylic sphere creates a unique fantasy landscape. The bubbles of air inside the acrylic sphere enhance the dream-like vision.
