Golden Chasm

Jewelry artist and sculptor Björn Weckström is the internationally best-known Finnish jewelry designer. The sculptural jewelry designed by Weckström in the 1960s signified a revolution in the still highly conservative world of jewelry, and made him famous worldwide. The jewelry designs by Björn Weckström are inspired by the beauty of Northern nature. He immortalized the rugged cliffs, the sparkling mountain creeks of Finnish Lapland, the constantly evolving sculpturesque windblown forms in snow, and ice shimmering in sunlight on a frosty day. Golden Chasm jewelry features a piece of solid gold, embraced by matte silver, like a gold vein peeking out through a crack in a rock face, smoothed by a continental glacier.

It is a heritage which is alive still today.
