The bronze Snake charm has taken its shape and inspiration from the iconic Snake ring, which has been part of the Kalevala jewelry collection for over 80 years. The 7^th century prototype of the piece was found in Vesilahti. The cylinder-shaped charm has an inner diameter of 7 mm. Wear the Snake charm on the necklace or bracelet of your choice. The Snake charm is available exclusively in the Kalevala webshop and Kalevala stores in Helsinki. Also available in silver.

JEWELRY STORY

Snakes were believed to be immortal because they shed their skin. Featured in jewelry, the snake symbolised success and the course of life. A snake ring also symbolised power and courage. The ring is based on the model of a ring, found in Vesilahti in the Pirkanmaa region, dating back to the 7th century AD. The spiral has cross-stitch ornamentation and easily recognisable snake-shaped motifs at both ends.

Care instructions for bronze jewelry

Bronze is an alloy of copper, tin and zinc which
tarnishes faster than precious metals. The new bronze jewelry has a jewelry protector
varnish surface that prevents the jewelry from darkening. With the Kalevala cleaning cloth, you can
polishes areas that have dimmed if the protective varnish has worn off.
After cleaning, it's a good idea to wash the jewelry in mild soapy water, so as not to damage the cloth
the cleaning agent inside stains clothes.
